Changes at a Glance:
For the most part, Klarth's appearance will be mostly unchanged; however, his vest will be replaced with something more akin to a laboratory coat in design, though it will will cut off at the elbows and retain the same color scheme. People will be able to tell at a glance that it is leather, worn, and built to withstand his on-site research.

Appearance:
Klarth tends to default to this appearance most often as these are the kinds of clothing he feels most comfortable with. However he tends to wear a thick, leather lab coat during his time at dig sites or really anywhere he can get away with it; the same goes with his signature hat as well.

History:
Klarth F. Lester is a name that is practically synonymous with magical research and for good reason. Ever since a chance meeting in his youth with a friend of his father, the concept of magic as a whole had him absolutely captivated. The more he delved into research, the more he found himself enthralled with the very concept of what magic was; while this didn't do very much for his social life, it did spur him on to a life dedicated to learning as much as he possibly could about the subject, even if he himself could not use it himself.

As if by a stroke of luck, Klarth discovered one day during a particularly extensive bout of research the existence of Summon Spirits; powerful entities that governed the natural state of the world. Not only did he learn of them, but he also learned of a method which could be used to form a pact with these beings, allowing him to harness their power. It was finally the break he'd been looking for since he was 7 years old, but by this time, he was already an established professor of Magical Theory...and a well paid one at that; he couldn't simply abandon his university to go off on some grand quest to find these summon spirits, or at least, he couldn't without a proper reason.

To that end, he began to delve into research and study about Fontech, magical technology that was often found buried in ancient ruins. It fell in line with his interests and it gave him the perfect excuse of field research he needed to get himself out and off on the hunt. So far, his plan has been a fairly lucrative success and despite the danger of ruin delving, he seems to have found a certain enjoyment from taking those risks.


Personality:
Klarth is about as arrogant as arrogant people come and about as blunt as a rock. This is mostly due to a mixture of his own self confidence and his general lack of experience in dealing with people outside of lectures for extended periods of time. He believes in his abilities 100 percent, though to that end he also knows when the best times to cut his losses are. For all his abrasiveness though, he is a generally kind and warm-hearted individual, holding a general care for the people around him if no one else and has a tendency to put his mask down around those he knows he can trust.

Special Abilities:
Summoning Artes:
Having made a pact with the four base Summon Spirits; Undine, Efreet, Gnome, and Slyph, Klarth can use his pact rings and a set incantation to summon them to battle for him for a short time. At this point in time, he is fairly adept at calling them and can almost do so in under a minute, making the ritual much less risky in the middle of a fight.

Expert Problem Solver:
For as blunt and straightforward an individual he is in regards to people, his mind is actually far more open and adept to change than he often lets on. His natural intelligence in conjunction with a few years excavating old ruins in search of Fontech and Summon Spirits has left him with an ability to put pieces of riddles, puzzles, and erstwhile things together at a surprising rate of speed.

Professor of Magical Theory:
Despite not actually being able to use magic directly, his absolutely fanatical research into the subject has rendered him one of the foremost minds in that field. Even if all of his ideas are theory, they are usually so grounded in pre-established fact that it is hard to dispute what he's saying. If you have a magically inclined question, asking Klarth is usually a safe bet if you want an answer.
